Tips and Tricks dealing with
Irish Twins

Buy a Graco Double Stroller where the older of the 2 babies sits in the front and navigates and the other baby goes in the back. If you have the Graco Carseat that pops out of the carseat base you can put that in the double stroller without taking the baby out.

Carry 1 diaper bag for both babies.

If you don’t have already, get a midsize to large car that can fit both carseats comfortably.

Take lots of pictures because they are so little for such a short amount of time. You won’t regret it! Take advantage of Sears Portrait Studio coupons and have a family portrait taken. Even Walmart has a small studio with no sitting fee.

A cordless phone in the house is a must!

If you are up to it, try getting a part time job at night for 3 nights a week so you can associate with other people your own age. It’s a stress reliever believe me!

Any money the baby receives as a gift, invest in US Savings Bonds Series I. The interest rate on them is almost 7%.

Make an accordion folder for each baby putting all important papers and documents in. This can include birth certificate, savings bonds, social security number, sonogram pictures, hospital discharge papers, immuniziations, etc.

Try to get the baby something of significance pertaining to the year they were born. My son Matthew has 5 rolls of uncirculated 1999 Georgia quarters given to him by his grandpa. They have a significance of that he was born in Georgia in 1999. PJ got a silver bar made in his year of 2000 and I have to get him a roll of the Golden Dollars that just came out.

Treat yourself to a 1 hour full body massage at a day spa. It costs about $65.00 but so well worth it!

I have learned having babies back to back like I did, you have a hard time losing the weight that you couldn't loose with the first baby then after the second baby is born, the weight refuses to budge. Well, I have the answer and I lost 30 lbs. already Ultimatediets.com.

Put them in the same room!! My two can not bear to be seperated! They need to be in sight of each other at night. My son started the night terrors after she was born. They stopped when we moved them to the same room to accomadate their toys. The first few months EXHAUSTING, but then smooth sailing. - Submitted by Casey in Upstate NY

If anyone had a c-section with the first and gets pregnant again very soon it will really tear up your body. I had alot of pain and was unable to work while pregnant with Jaymi. I had complications with the 2nd c-section also. If anyone had a c-section the first time, try for a vbac, but if you can't, as soon as can get out of bed, take a stroll around the maturnity ward a few times a day. I found that be a big help in my quick recovery and the pain you experience afterwords. By doing that, I found that I didn't need to take as much pain medication.

Also, when friends or family tell you "Just call and I'll take the older one for the afternoon" do it! It will help you bond with the new baby and get some well deserved rest!! If you have older children like I do, you will soon find out how they and their friends love to help out. My daughter and her best friend have really helped me. They are my God sends. I love them both! - Submitted by Kathi from Southern NJ
