News and Updates
In The News The dreary days of Autumn are upon us and NL sections are falling faster than leaves on trees. You'll notice that both Battle Arena and Interviews are missing this week. Reason? Well, I felt that Battle Arena wasn't really a strong area in the Newsletter, and I usually get few replies for it. The reason I don't have an Interview this week is because I put it off... (Remind me this time JAY3989!!!) Request an Interview If you tried to visit the EarthBound 64 Shrine at the Moonside Homepage, you were given an unfortunate surprise: It wasn't there. I know, it's not up yet, but it should be up soon. Check it out when it is. Not much in the news.... The FFIX Box Art is available to view online. Go check out FFOnline.com for the pic.

Newsletter Date Change! Yep, I know this newsletter didn't reach your mailbox until Saturday night (Eastern Time). And that's because by mailing it Friday night, I have less time to write it than I did during the summer. By sending it out on Sat. I now have Friday, and all of Satuday to write a better newsletter! Thank you for cooperating with this change!

Vote For the NL Background! - I need to distinguish a good background color for the newsletter, I kinda like this one (Light Yellow) or white. I want it to be simple and not too attention-grabbing... I may just stick with this color though...
Vote from these choices:
___Vote___ ___Vote___ ___Vote____ ___Vote___ ____(white)____
Yellow Light Blue Light Green Light Gray Plain White
Keep it the way it is. (Light Yellow)

Ranks
Ranks Update: New Ranks are in!!! Just because the upper ranks are not filled up doesn't mean you are not worthy of the position!!! I thought it would be a good idea to start the ranks near the bottom so promotions and demotions will be easier to chart. (Instead of, say some one being randomly chosen near tohe top of the ranks, and then cannot be necessarily promoted...) So don't be mad if you are a Sentry Robot, and someone who put in the same amount of effort as you is a Cafe Regular. Ranks should change drastically over the next few weeks...

Ness3Toad II is this week's member of the week, also for great participation, It's people like this who keep the club alive.... Thanks for helping out.

Member Info/Promotions and Demotions
I have done something worthy of a promotion
In the club, you are promoted and demoted according to your behavior and participation. I'll be straight with you: If you don't do anything, you won't be demoted. Yes I meant to write DEmoted. I understand if you just want to join the club and read newsletters. I used to do that when I was in other clubs. If you purposely try to harm the club, you will be demoted, and only then. You can be promoted though, and with promotion comes great happiness! Here are the top five things you can do to get promoted:

1. Send me an old Moonside Newsletter: Promoted 3 Ranks!
2. Recruit 5 members: Promoted 1 Rank
3. Advertise on EB Message Boards: Promoted 1 Rank (If i get more members because of the ad, you are promoted again) Note: I have no AOL, so I cannot do this anymore = VERY IMPORTANT.
4. Help find other clubs to advertise with: Promoted Once
5. Help with Web Design and Logos: Twice Promoted

You need to notify me of your accomplishment though, did you think that a promotion would come automatically?!? I would prefer you send old Newsletters, or help with logos!!! ~Red

Weekly Moonside Polls
Last Week's Poll:
Would you boycott Nintendo as a result of the Cancellation?
Granted, most of you replied YES, but I got a few interesting responses...

No, I would not boycott Nintendo. Mr. Itoi himself admitted it was his own development team at fault, and I don't believe Nintendo had much to do with it...maybe they could have helped him out a little more or something...but I don't know enough of the details to place all my blame on the big N. 'Sides, EarthBound may be the thing I like best about Nintendo, but it isn't the only thing, so they can still make it up to me somewhat.
~ Ness3Toad II

Nintendo didn't cancel it. Hal did. I'd boycott Hal instead.
- KidofSeph

Eh? You see, maybe you should rethink your opinion. I personally would not boycott. I think about all the wonderful games Nintendo has and will continue to bring us. I think of all the long nights Mr. Itoi and his deveopment team spent on the game, and I don't think boycotting their products will help bring the game out. I think the EB64 petition is a much better idea. We need to show the big N that we will continue to buy its games, not boycott them.

Will You buy a PlayStation 2?

Game Reviews
This week in Reviews:
~ Another Chrono Cross Review
by BuckDawg23 Spoiler Free!
~ Write-a-Review Guide

I'll be glad to publish the review of any game you send in!!! It can be FF7, Xenogears, EarthBound, Goldeneye, EarthBound Zero, FF 1-8, Chrono Trigger, Wild Arms 1 or 2, Shadow Madness, Alundra, Thousand Arms, a
ny Zelda game, Final Fantasy Tactics.... whatever.

Chrono Cross {Edited for Spoilers}
by BuckDawg23

You've probably already done it but...Chrono Cross!!!!!!
Graphics: 9.7- Good movement and characters. The movies are sweet too.
Replay: 10 - 44 characters, collect them all! (Even though that's impossible.) Plus every character has there own level 7 element and for some of them they are tricky to find.
Fun: 9.6- Hell yes! The fighting style kicks ass and there are some funny characters that give some laughs. Yes that comment was directed to the Myconic Madman, The Fungal Fury, the Best of the Best, Funguy himself.
Gameplay: 10- Like I said before, sweet fight scheme, the element thing is a great idea too. They put every good thing about an RPG and piled it all into this masterpiece of a game.
Quality: 9.5- It must have taken a while to make all the great things in that game, put together the music which is almost as good as the music in Chrono Trigger.
Overall: 10- What else can you say about this game? 10!!!

P.S. Funguy is the man, everyone make sure you don't miss him. when you go
down the well at the beat up viper mansion get the mushroom from the kid who's
dad is trapped in the whole, then bring it in the cave hidden under a waterfall in shadow forest and give it to the guy in there, he transforms into Funguy. Now you must promise me that nobody will miss Funguy, he is the best guy in the game in my mind. Serge is chop liver compared to Funguy.

Gameplay: 1-10 (Game Mechanics)
Quality: 1-10 (Cheaply made: Quest 64, High Quality: Metal Gear Solid)
Overall: 1-10 (Not an average, just overall)

Member's Top Five

Send in a Top Five List!

Red's Top 6+4 (=10) Nintendo 64 Games of all time
1. Super Mario 64 - Why ask? This was the first game for N64, and it starred everyone's favorite plumber. The lack of Luigi is noticable, but this game pioneered Nintendo's foray into the world of 64 bits.
2. Waverace 64 - I love this game, it looks and sounds great. One of the best. I still play this game all of the time. (I'm a waverace master)
3. Starfox 64 - Another great game, in my opinion this could be the pinnacle of the 64's career. It was summer 97 when this was released, and EVERYONE had it. This was THE game of the N64's second year, THE game, only next to....
4. GoldenEye - Another shoe-in. One of the greatest games of all time, and proof that the N64's best game's were released earlier in it's 5 year run as Nintendo's main system.
5. Zelda 64: Ocarina of Time - Nintendo Masterpiece. Only a few games that are released for each Nintendo system live up to their hype. This was one of them.

Next Five Next Week!!!
