Character intro to Thunder and Redness

<"img src="imhaoh.jpg">

Hello! Actually, this page used to be my regular old SS gallery, but I am afraid of waisting disk space, so this pages will be an introduction to the characters in my story. Besides, it's probably boring as hell reading all the same stuff about the characters, so I will give you their analysis in context of my story.

**Just a side note: some of the characters will not fit the picture description I give because these pictures are from the game. Like, for instance, Haoh won't have that stupid ass hair.

The characters appear in alphabetical order. . .

Amakusa

In his former life, Amakusa was a Christian daimyo (warlord) who participated in the Shimabara rebellion (a revolt of Christian peasants on Kyushu). At the time, Christianity was banned in Japan. The Shogun (a complete retard) made a deal with him: that he would not be executed for his Christian beliefs if he became a Daimyo and could control the Christians. Of course, Amakusa took advantage of that power and tried to spread Christianity throughout all of Japan.

He was defeated by the legendary Samurai general Tomura Akira (Haohmaru's father) and he made any further spread of Christianity very difficult. Amakusa was extremely embittered by this and hired a Catholic missionary, Serge (Charlotte's father), to convert Akira and his family.

Shortly After his death, he is brought back to life by a devout follower: Tachibana Ukyo, to finish his revenge on Haohmaru.

Cham Cham

CHam Cham is this bitchy teenager from the jungles in Venezuela who travels with Galford on trading routes. When Galford accidentally stops in Japan, she she basically whines and complains about everything while following Galford around. I really dislike her personally; I based her on people I've known in middle school. She adds some comic relief and is an element of satire--that's her main purpose, since this story's kinda dark.

Charlotte

Charlotte is the daughter of the French missionary Serge. SHe is about five at the time when she comes to Japan, and she develops a very close relationship with Haohmaru when during their childhood. She never forgets Haohmaru. She's a very compassionate person and has concern for everyone and lives her life by Christian principles; her faith in God helps her thru a lot of circumstances she'll face.

Galford

Galford is a New World trader who has markets in the West Indies and India. He works with the Dutch East India Co., a joint-stock company that funds the New World and other stuff. He arrives in Japan, thinking that is's India. Galford's pretty laid back, but he's just an all-around nice guy.

Hattori Hanzo

Hattori Hanzo is a Ninja who used to serve under Amakusa, but quit because he felt it was morally wrong. He loves the art of Ninjutsu, but he doesn't like the reputation of assasins and thieves. He's an enigmatic character, and appears very quiet and composed. He tried to repress his emotions.

Tomura Haohmaru

Haohmaru is the main man of the story. It is told through his point of view. He's the son of Akira and at a young age is brought up to be a great Samurai like his father. After the death of his father when he was 8, his life is shattered, so he tries to escape and hide in the woods. Even at a young age, he was very sensitive to his emotions, and is very quick to anger. Often times his anger overwhelms him. He knows that it's a problem and it could ruin not only his existance but his legacy as well. His main motive is to destroy Amakusa for the death of his father.

His relationship with Charlotte during childhood was very strong and as had a lasting impact on his life. He really loves her but finds it difficult because her family (except for Charlotte's mother) was cruel to him.

Kazuki

Kazama Kazuki is a young guy (about 17) who needs help because his brother, Sogetsu, has mysteriously dissapeared. He has a big hunch that Amakusa has something to do with it, so he seeks Haohmaru's help. He often looks up to Haohmaru as an older brother. Kazuki is very audacious; he'll put his life on the line. He also very curious about things. He possessed fire-based powers.

Kei

Art by:Mark Patraw

Kei was Tachibana Ukyo's former girlfriend. Ukyo left her alone to join Amakusa. She too has a great loathing for Amakusa because he took her boyfriend away. For a good bit of her life she feels depressed and feels that she is aging fast. Since she is like most Japanese women at the time, she is kind of passive--she allows Ukyo to consort with other women and assumes that she is the one he loves.

Nakoruru

Nakoruru is a young Ainu girl who meets up with Haohmaru in the beginning. She's very friendly and compassionate, but a bit shy. Despite her young appearance, she is pretty intellegent and informed. SHe witnesses the ressurection of Amakusa and tells it to Haohmaru. She joins him on his quest to destroy Amakusa in order to protect her family.

Shizumaru

Shizumaru is a young boy who was raised on the streets. There is much mystery as to where he came from, but the people believe that his father was possessed by the demon Zankuro when he was born, and that his possessed father burned down his village.

Haohmaru befriends him one day because he has compassion for him. Shizumaru reminds him of when he was a boy and feels for him because he has no family. Haohmaru wants to follow in his father's footsteps and try to act as a father to Shizumaru

Neinhalt Sieger

Sieger is a Prussian soldier who escapes the militaristic tyrant king of his country, Frederick the II (one of those Fredericks). He befriends Charlotte and escapes to Japan with her. Despite his massive appearance, he's actually a nice guy.

Sogetsu

Sogetsu is the brother of Kazuki who was ostracized for his power of water. He is somewhat insecure of himself and often turns to evil in order to find acceptance.
