Another Old-Timer Gone

The death of P. J. Lovless (notice the spelling) at
his home in El Dorado, last Monday, was the
inevitable resulf of long declining health and
strength. He was a native of Georgia and came to
this county in 1852, where he was married to
Catherine B. Gray in 1854. His wife, three
daughters and three sons, with a large circle of
collateral relatives survive him. He was
devoted to his family, kind to his neighbors, and
a genial friend.

He was a member of Mud Springs Lodge No. 28, A. O. U. W.
At his funeral, which was conducted by Rev.
C. C. Peirce last Wednesday, four of the pall
bearers were brothers of his order and four were old-
time friends and neighbors. From Placerville a
quarette of singers consisting of Misses Adele
Anderson and Mollie Carpenter and Messrs. A. S. Fox
and A. K. Zwisler, and many friends joined in the
last testimonial of respect to a man who had
many friends and no enemies.
