Departed this life August 15, 1909 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S. H. Herring, near Alvarado, Johnson County, Texas. He was born in Pickens County, Georgia November 21st, 1830. Was married to Sarah Adams, August 1848. Was converted and joined the Baptist Church in 1852. Moved to Coleman County, Alabama in 1856. Was licensed to preach in 1861 and was soon after ordained. He moved his family to Ellis County, Texas in 1881, but kept on in the Lord's work. He was County Missionary for Ellis County soon after he came here -- served several different churches as pastor and was ever about his Master's business.
About twelve years ago his strength and voice failed him and he had to give up his ministerial work. The last year of his life was spent as a patient sufferer on the bed of affliction. He was a cheerful, sweet spirited Christian, a loving husband and father, and a true friend and was loved by all who knew him.
Brother Loveless was laid to rest August 16, 1909 in the Bethany Cemetery. W. R. Selvage conducted the funeral services in a very impressive manner. He leaves his old dear companion who has toiled with him through these many years and is now very feeble. He also leaves five children and a host of friends to morn his death.
We extend to his bereaved family our heartfelt sympathy in their sad ordeal in which they are called to pass to them. It is his eternal gain to a home at God's right hand.
