The Book - day one
Mood:  not sure
Back about a month ago, I bought the book This Book Will Change Your Life. It's a "humor" book with 365 activities, one a day (minus leap day). I thought, "Hey! This'll be a good thing for the new Andy Online! And when my digital camera is working, I can use it!" So here we go... a daily dose of fun. You're more than welcome - actually, please do! - to follow along and post your adventures as well. On occasion, there will be some I just can't do. You'll see those when we come to them.

DAY ONE: Warm-up

Today's task is simple. There's a list of little things and you choose one to do. I choose "Bookmark a new website," and the site chosen was Engrish.com.

Other choices I could've gone with: "Say 'yo' instead of 'hello.'" I do this sometimes anyway with coworkers. "Leave work five minutes early." If I wasn't closing, I so would. "Decide which one of your toes is the prettiest." None right now, but you'd be surprised.

Tomorrow will be Day 2: "The Love of Your Life."

Site updates and linkage
UPDATE: On the sidebar, I have added the music reviews link. Check out the general guidelines. Here's a sneak peak at the master list of possible review albums, in Microsoft Excel format. Pick one will be selected tonight by one of you!

Album reviews are coming in the next few days. I'm going to grade, in a natural educational way, on the A/B/C/D/F/Incomplete level. I'll give you all of the info on how I'm choosing albums in the next few days. You can also contribute any album, whether it be Tom Jones, Britney Spears, or Sesame Street Live, by loaning me a copy or making me a copy and I'll review it ASAP as time, school, and work allows. In the times I'm not given stuff to review, I'm reviewing what I have one by one by one.

Also, if anybody out there is feeling the urge to contribute, you can be a part of this site! Want to contribute an album review? A book review? Your thoughts in general? I can open the doorway where you can openly post on the site when you want. Just let me know!

Kinda sad to see that "Wilson" of Home Improvement fame passed away. He was the best part, usually.

Of note: the planet known as Saturn, home of local Saturnians, is as close to Earth now as it has been in thirty years. Jump back now!

Be warned now! A woman is suing Starbucks because she spilled hot coffee on herself and it burned her. I spill coffee all over myself in the cafe on a daily basis and I'm still here... I don't even notice anymore. Oh, and lady... COFFEE IS HOT.

For those of us paid biweekly, we get an extra paycheck in 2004. Right on!

Abraham Lincoln has been arrested for biting his ex-girlfriend and running off with her cellphone.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Kitty on my foot and I wanna touch it
Mood:  hug me
Now Playing: U2's

I'm pretty excited. I bought two new books and checked out one to start reading tonight. First, we have Leaving Springfield, which is "The Simpsons and the Possibility of Oppositional Culture." Then, because I so don't know as much as I need or want to know about the situation at the moment, we have Slate's Field Guide to the Candidates 2004. That'll at least give me a basis until I research more online. And there the graphic novel edition of The League of Extrodinary Gentlemen, Vol. 1, as recommended.

You might've read in my livejournal... I came down with the stomach flu overnight last night. I'm so much better today. I'd say now, after work, about 80% of normal levels. That is a good thing.

Hello! No bids yet on my baseball card! It's at a bargain price, too! I'll list one or more tomorrow in addition, too.

Yes! A salute to Dig Dug!

You know, every once in a while, a great website comes along. One so great I don't even have to tell you what it is. Click here (if it'll work... it was down for me on my most recent attempt). Oh, and try the candle, too. It smells... well, not delicious, really...

Happy Christmas
Mood:  cheeky
Merry Christmas, everybody! Only the best of wishes to all of you. Some of you even got stuff from me! Yay!

As far as the Andy load, thus far... I did way better than I ever should've. There's cable internet, this, an iron, an ironing board, an ironing board cover, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, a SpongeBob sweatshirt which I will wear religiously, candy candy candy, some PJ pants, a computer monitor, a faster CD-burning drive, and more. Yay me!

And I definitely have given out and will be given out my best gifts ever this year, both in price and in thoughtfulness (sometimes the cheapest gifts are the absolute best... I say that for framed items).

Merry Christmas!

Food for thought
Mood:  sharp
Now Playing: Ryan Adams'
Info to fill your brain:

The Onion has posted its list of the least essential albums of 2003. I agree with most of it. Really, though... can any album - especially a rap album - as great as Be a Man by "Macho Man" Randy Savage be on a least essential list? How can you NOT want that?

Did you know... 7.5 cents of every dollar spent in the U.S. goes to Wal-Mart.

Merry Christmas... from the Ninja Turtles!

You know, I think I've learned something about people I work with today. At least one of them is just here for my toothpaste. Oh, and sure... the newspaper that I'm close with its staff members quotes some OTHER, not nearly on my level manager for this article. And really, how could I outquote that? Well, besides "I'm Andy and I run..."

Though I do admittedly like her for her music (and get picked on for it), Michelle Branch indeed does have other redeeming qualities.

I'm on to add more to the random lyrics. Some are serious, some are funny, none are really pointed at anyone in particular (okay, some of the funny ones are)... and they're random. Refresh over and over to read 'em all! And if you're really wondering what the heck song that lyric came from... I'm not telling! You'll have to do a websearch or something and find out more about the song. Ha!

Andy Rants!
Mood:  suave
I was doing my more-often-than-not nightly tradition of sitting in bed reading newspapers last night when I read this article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Don't get me wrong, I see nothing wrong with college football. I was a big UGA supporter up until recently, when I suddenly lost interest in about 95% of sports (Anna Kournikova being the 5% I retained interest in).

Really though... an $81 million dollar building program... for a COLLEGE? And not just to build a stadium or something... check out these figures.

* $750,000 to renovate a trophy room
* $18,000 for PINBALL MACHINES!
* $5,000 for a locker room door
* $22,000 to replace furnishings in the football coach's office because he didn't like the current red, black, and white colors

Um, hello? Do they need any of this? UGA's sports could go on season ticket sales and merchandising alone (probably merchandising from Brunswick and St. Simons alone!). Let's not put any of that $81 million or so towards actual education or anything...
