Señora Skeens:

Soy Beatríz Skeens. Este es mi año diez y seis en BHS. Soy Cubana.  Estudié en la Universidad de Florida y tengo mi Maestría de la Universidad de Georgia Southern. Fuí a España y Costa Rica para estudiar y con estudiantes.

Tengo tres hijos y estoy casada. Mis pasatiempos favoritos son nadar, leer y caminar en la playa. Me gusta enseñar porque yo pienso que puedo motivar a los estudiantes a usar sus talentos y aprender mucho a hablar español. Espero que algún día puedan usar el español en su vida diaria y en su trabajo.

I am Beatriz Skeens and this is my sixteenth year teaching at BHS. I am from Cuba. I studied at the University of Florida, and I have a Masters Degree from Georgia Southern University. I went to Spain and Costa Rica alone and with students to study Spanish. I spend much of my time preparing and making my classes interesting and exciting. My hobbies are swimming and walking on the beach. I enjoy teaching because I feel I can motivate my students to use their talents to the best of their ability. I hope someday they will use their Spanish in their daily lives and in their jobs. Maybe they will come back and tell me about it!!!
