Who's Who in Wrestling - The Brood

From "Who's Who in Wrestling" presented by Wrestling World - September, 1999.

Better known as Gangrel, Edge, and Christian, this terrifying trio has been likened to a modern day version of the famous Fabulous Freebirds. The leader is Gangrel, a 6-4, 240-pound Gothic Warrior with a predilection for blood, whether he is drinking it from his goblet or covering his enemies with it in a series of well-orchestrated blood baths.

Such stars as the Road Dogg, Public Enemy, and Tiger Ali Singh have suddenly found themselves covered in crimson thanks to Gangrel. This Vampire-like competitor leads by example, often wrestling despite serious injuries. His finishing move is a DDT. He is joined in the Brood by brothers Christian and Edge. Christian was hand-picked by Gangrel to join him in his Gothic battles and proved to be fearless, despite his small 5-10, 215-pound stature, often putting his body on the line for the good of the group. He brought The Brood its first title belt when he defeated Taka Michinoku for the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship. He defended it successfully until he was unseated by Gillberg. The other foot soldier of The Brood is Edge, a 6-4, 240-pound package of constant rage. Driven by inner demons, when he isn't accompanying Gangrel and Christian to the ring, Edge often lurks in the crowd and then suddenly lashes out when his enemy comes to the ring. His finishing move is the Downward Spiral...The three Goth gladiators initially had a rocky relationship until they joined forces as The Brood. They later came under the influence of the Undertaker and were indoctrinated into his Ministry.

What We are Anticipating This Year: Gangrel was a seasoned vet when he arrived; Edge and Christian have made remarkably quick progress as it relates to performing on the Big Two level. Put all that together with the boost in attention they are receiving from their association with the Undertaker, and all indications are the Brood dudes have a "bloody" good future in the WWF.
