An Article About Nothing

This article was written by Lucas in July 2000 for wwf.com.
(The part regarding Christian is in bold and italic.)

I couldn't help but notice that on the new WWF.com we look pretty dumb if we don't have a current article up on the commentary page. It's just our picture with an envelope and nothing else. My mug does a good enough job of making me look dumb; I don't need the added ridicule of having nothing next to it.

So I decided that I needed to write an article. But since there's nothing in particular I want to talk about, I'm just going to write about whatever I feel like.

* I like Lita more each minute I see her on World Wrestling Federation programming. And I'm not talking about her athletic skills here (we all know how talented she is), I'm talking about her as a bona fide WWF Diva. I think she gets hotter every time I see her. Couple that with what she can get done in the ring and an interesting storyline with the Hardy Boyz and I quote B.C. smell money.

*King Kurt, your Royal Olympic Gold Medalist, is the greatest thing I've ever seen. WWF.com's newshound, Phil Speer, recently wrote an article about the new TV specials we might see with the WWF and Viacom and I want him to add the "Kurt Angle Show" to his list. Think about it. One hour of King Kurt interviewing (and indirectly insulting) pop culture figures.

Darva Conger - Thanks for having me on Kurt. I just want everyone to know that I'm not a publicity hound.

Kurt Angle - Yes, I understand. I mean it makes total sense to me that a woman like you, with less curves than a triangle and a nose that spreads over half her face would turn to a TV game show as her last chance of roping in a guy. It's true. It's true.

* It's so enjoyable to be living in New York right now because it's July 6 and the Mets are four games better than the Yankees. Seeing the Bronx Non-Bombers with their $100 million payroll trailing the bargain-basement Oakland A's for the WILD CARD spot is a site I'll never get tired of. Speaking of the Mets, if you never read Seth Mates' column on John Rocker being a classic wrestling heel, go check it out now.

* I'm having an internal struggle these days - Too Cool or Edge & Christian? I find myself cracking up whenever both of these teams are in front of the camera and I can't figure out which is more over with me. The Canadian duo may get the nod solely due to Christian's use of the word "so." I so mark out for that line.

* "The Perfect Storm" was a good movie. Although I think it would have been better if they put Trish Stratus on board as the cook. Think about it. Get Trish on the boat in a white T-shirt, that storm comes and instead of praying for a miracle, Marky Mark and Dr. George Clooney are scrounging for dollar bills. I would of thought our WWFDivas.com master, Kevin Sullivan, would be looking out for one his girls and get her an audition, but I guess not.

* It's been said a million times already - it's great to see Mick Foley back on WWF television. Make it a million and one.

* I don't care if you hate his character, you can't be a true WWF fan if you can't appreciate Triple H's talent and contribution.

* I feel like Jim Ross writing a column like this. Except I don't really have any interesting news to report.

* The world has advanced in so many areas in the last few years - when's the last time somebody tried something new and innovative with a fireworks display? I'm as big a firework fan as the next guy, but shouldn't one of these companies try to shake it up a bit?

Okay, I feel like I'm done. At least I have something next to my picture now.
