Human nature is fascinating -- and every week, RAW IS WAR never fails to provide a plethora of questions concerning the state of the human race. The show in Dallas raised the question of what motivates people. Although we as a species have "evolved" into civilized beings, I do question our development. Are we, deep down, driven by our instinctual desires? Or are we moral creatures, acting out of obligation? Another question is, what's stronger -- the ties of friendship or the lure of money?
Watch Your Back
Trust is a funny thing -- it's so hard to build, yet so easy to lose. Cactus Jack had a taste of this when the Radicals betrayed him, siding with Triple H and the rest of D-Generation X. Perhaps CJ's mistake was trusting too easily. Boy, makes for a real cynical view on life, right? I mean, the Radicals said it themselves -- it's not about friendship, it all boils down to the almighty dollar. They used and then betrayed Cactus Jack to get their in. But what the Radicals fail to realize, however, is that friends are probably the most valuable assets in the World Wrestling Federation. Without 'em, you're sunk.
New Game Rules
Hell in a Cell is less than 20 days away and this match could very well be the end of Mick Foley's entire career. Yes, all three incarnations -- Cactus Jack, Dude Love and Mankind -- will be finito, capisce, that's it. It'll be retirement city for Mick Foley -- Florida, here he comes. My opinion? If Triple H were smart, he'd put in for early retirement…
Only the Lonely
Chris Jericho had to battle it out himself this Monday, defending the Intercontinental Title as Chyna was MIA, filming for a TV show. Her absence shed light on how alone Jericho truly is. Does he have any friends? Is there anyone out there who'd back him up, like The Rock did for Cactus Jack? I don't think so…
Pretty Please
It's obvious that the Dudley Boyz have it in for Edge, Christian and the Hardy Boyz -- or the "pretty boyz," as Buh Buh refers to them. True, the Dudleys will attack anyone -- there was even Terri and now, BB -- but special emphasis is placed on the "pretty boyz." They haven't paid this kind of attention to the New Age Outlaws -- is it because they're afraid of DX standing behind them? No -- the Dudley's are afraid of nothing! I think it may be a little jealousy going on. Not only are the four boys -- Edge, Christian, Matt and Jeff -- better looking; they are more talented. D-Von says, "There ain't nothing wrong with being a sick man in the Federation because it's the only way you're gonna survive…" Maybe so -- especially if you lack true talent.
Survivor
Although we haven't seen much of him, Tazz is very impressive -- and the Dudleys could learn a thing or two from him. I think it's probably safe to assume that Tazz has tasted life -- that he knows the dark side of human nature. And I'm speaking of the real dark side -- not some mystical mumbo jumbo, but the harsh realities of poverty, violence -- of survival. Definitely a man to have with you and not against you.
5 on 2…
Turned into a fair competition when Too Cool and Rikishi joined Cactus Jack and The Rock to go against Triple H, X-Pac and three of the Radicals. However, I do have some concern for Rikishi and Too Cool. They've really pissed off the "powers that be," according to Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. I can only hope that Cactus and The Rock remember their good deed.
Back in Black
When the lights went out and the dark, ominous music played, and Paul Bearer emerged from under the TitanTron, for one brief moment I thought Undertaker had returned. But when I saw Kane, my heart broke in two for the Big Red Machine. Here he was, after so much growth, sucked back into the evil hands of his father, Paul Bearer -- the very source of most of Kane's psychological problems. That wench, Tori, and back stabbing X-Pac drove Kane to seek solace from the very place he had tried so desperately to escape. It's over now -- all the hope that was held for the Big Red Machine fulfilling his human potential is now out the window. The actions of Tori and X-Pac and the debase character of Paul Bearer are proof that there exists a truly evil side of human nature. I can only hope that Kane will direct his wrath onto those who have recently wronged him and maybe, just maybe, he'll find vindication and once again stand on his own. However, I won't hold my breath…
