Friend or Foe?

This article was written by Laura on June 20, 2000 for WWF.com.(The part regarding Christian is in bold and italics.)

This week on RAW, friends were pitted against friends, lovers against lovers, and family against family -- all in an effort to become contenders at King of the Ring this Sunday on Pay-Per-View. Yes, there was Rikishi vs. Scotty and Crash vs. Hardcore Holly, to name a couple. However, things got ugliest amongst the family of the World Wrestling Federation-the McMahon-Helmsley Regime.

Can't Squeeze Blood Out of a Stone

Both Triple H and Shane forcibly and continually stated that blood is thicker than water -- that family ties are stronger than any other bond or vow. But Triple H seems to be forgetting something very important: he isn't blood. No, the Game isn't a McMahon but only a part of the family circle because he married Stephanie.

What About the Chicks?

When Shane was ranting at the opening of RAW, reiterating Triple H's sentiments that because they are family -- Vince McMahon, Triple H and himself -- they will be victorious at King of the Ring, he neglected to mention two individuals. The first was Stephanie, and I wonder if she picked up on that? Is it perhaps a foreshadowing of a dilemma within the McMahon-Helmsley Regime? The second omission, and perhaps more important, was Linda. Whether the McMahons like it or not, she is family. In fact, it could be said that without Linda, the whole regime would have never existed, and that the Federation would have crumbled a long time ago. Yes, it appears as if the boys in the family are a little ahead of themselves, living in a semi-fantasy world where they are the rulers and the rest of the Federation -- including wives and mothers -- are mere peasants. But I have a feeling that both Linda and Stephanie, each in their own, unique ways, will give those boys a little dose of reality.

Whole Lotta Love

I am now convinced that the love relationship between Eddie and Chyna is genuine. Since the beginning of their love affair, I figured Chyna was using him or they were both duping all of us. But after watching Eddie struggle with viewing Chyna as an opponent -- hugging her in the ring before the bell, kissing her hand -- and Chyna's inability to low blow her Latin lover, I was persuaded. However, I became a true believer of their love and commitment when Eddie presented Chyna with an adorable little puppy, a gift that took precedence over her disappointment with having lost her shot at becoming Queen of the Ring.

Speaking of Which

Oh, I believe there will be a Queen of the Ring this year -- and it certainly ain't Chyna!

Get Over Yourselves -- PLEASE!

Christian and Edge …… "Tiger Beat" material? I think not. The Hardy Boyz, yes -- they're definitely made of the stuff that graces teen magazines like that, at least in my humble opinion. I am curious as to what others think of Edge and Christian's new attitude, of their idea that they've got what it takes to be on the cover of "Tiger Beat." Do the chicks really dig them that much, attitude and all? And what do the guys think of the duo?

Watch Your Back

Triple H had better grow eyes in the back of his head if he knows what's good for him. He had such a tantrum over the fact that he now has to defend the World Wrestling Federation Championship at King of the Ring, thanks to Linda's fax and the incredible and victorious Handicap Matches won by Undertaker, Kane and The Rock. However, I have a feeling that Vince McMahon will only take so much crying and whining from Triple H. And if Mr. McMahon gives Triple H a pink slip from the McMahon family circle, I highly doubt Stephanie will stick by her husband's side. After all, as both Shane and Triple H asserted, blood is thicker than water ……
