ARCHIBALD BARRON was born 1734 in Ireland, and died May 13, 1817 in Newport York Co., South Carolina. He married ELIZABETH INGRAM 1755.

ELIZABETH BARRON (ARCHIBALD) was born 1756 in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, and died October 12, 1809 in Rock Hill, York, SC. She married ALEXANDER STEWART 1774 in York Dist., SC, son of ALEXANDER STUART and MARY COWAN.

Notes for ALEXANDER STEWART: Came to America prior to the Revolutionary War, when he was 15 years old. Settled in Lancaster, PA for some years, then to York Dist, SC then moved to Morgan Co., GA. Three Brothers killed in the Revolutionary war. He served as a Private in the Revolutionary War Book L-N Page 64 indents for REV. claims by SCREV. Soldiers by A. S. JOHN BARRON (ARCHIBALD) was born 1763 in County Antirm, Ireland, and died June 09, 1841 in York Dist., SC. He married JANE DUNCAN, daughter of JOHN DUNCAN.

Notes for JOHN BARRON: He was six years old when he came to SC. Although he was young he became a soldier in Colonel William Bratton's regiment in the Rebolutinary War. When the war was over he married Jane Duncan. Was the first man in South Carolina to own a Cotton Gin, he ginned for the public. He was the first man in upper state if not all of SC to own a mule. He bought two and people came from many miles away to see the mules. John also had a still house ( distillery). They attended the Ebenezar Associate Reformed Church. Six years after his death the widow Jane and his youngest son Thomas moved to Marion, Perry Co., AL. Her son John had been in AL for 17 years and her daughter Nancy and her husband J. G. Wallace had been there nearly as long. The only son left in York Dist was Archibald.
