NATURE TRAIL By ... Steve Lucky
Facing Fear
FACING FEAR
By ... Steve Lucky
I dreamed I was driving a motorcycle.
Just riding one scares me.
Driving one would be terrifying.
Still I felt compelled to do it.
Many twists are turns were found in the road,
Yet I continued to accelerate.
As I did this, I realized I was dreaming
Making it a lucid dream, a rare dream phomenon,
Facing my fear, I tightly gripped both handle bars.
Keeping my speed at the posted speed limit,
I followed the road wherever it went.
The road had far more turns than any road
Seen in the waking world,
Yet I took the turns one at a time.
My body would bend and stretch
So I could keep pace with the unrelenting road.
Waking up, my concsious mind
Still had many questions about the dream.
Did the motorcycle represent a specific fear
Or fear in general?
Either way, my solution was to face it.
