          GIVE ME THE STRENGTH

Lord, I ask You to give me the strength
For whatever needs to be done.
Problems of tremendous length
Need to be completed once begun.
Opposition can be numerous and tough
Causing me to lose vital ground.
I often wonder if I have enough
Strength to give courage to everyone around.
Attempting to do things on my own
Quickly gets me into trouble.
Keeping in mind Your patient tone,
Things can be done on the double.
Whether it is a simple need
Or making a difference on a global scale,
Holding back the temptation of greed
Is best done by letting Your will prevail.
Friends and enemies You created
Giving them the ability to love.
This love needs to be demonstrated
By my own actions so it fits me like a glove.
As well as strength I would like to know
How this strength should be properly used.
Even with sufficient willpower
I far too easily get confused.
