LAWYERS
By ... Steve Lucky
With all the corrupt people in the world today
Lawyers offer a valuable service,
Providing protection to businesses and individuals
So they do not have to worry as much
About the corruption going on around them.
Is the benefit of protection worth the price of restrictions
Businesses and individuals place on themselves
For the services of the lawyers.
Often this is nothing more than a fee,
Yet even a fee
Keeps other options from being carried out.
Contracts and lawyers seem to be more and more common.
Need for them comes from a greater problem
Which can not be restricted to a single location.
Do the lawyers themselves actually contribute to the problem
Knowingly or unknowingly?
Laws should never replace the basic moral values
Everyone seems to know.
As criminal activities become more complex
So do the methods used to stop them.
This may only lead to unnecessary confussion
Obstructing the obvious, more primative system of justice
But if the primative system is wrong
Complex, more accurate laws may be exactly what people need.
Like everyone else, lawyers are human beings
Dormant mixtures of goodness and badness
Remain inside every single one of them.
It can be triggered by external circumstances.
Most of it, however, depends on their own actions.
