MOTION

Constant motion is all around
No matter where one bothers to look.
From the slow growth of plants
To the rapid beating of an insects wings,
Differences can be measured and observed.
Microscopic creatures move beside each other
As if their scale of motion
Was the only one in existance.
Earth itself spins on its axis
During its trip around the sun.
People are found somewhere in between,
Ready to do whatever they think needs doing.
Often they do not realize how their various activities
Have an effect on one another.
Motion can be random or controlled
Becoming part of a plan
Far too large to be seen by individuals.
Speed and direction should be decided carefully, if possible.
The part of overall motion within one's control
Is the part many people consider most important.
