Do I stay to face the doubt
Or do I walk away?
For the long run will it matter
What other people say
About what I did or did not do
In distant times and places?
People, as a whole, tend to forget
Events supporting or contradicting individual cases.
Despite my fear I realize
Nothing will change if nothing is done.
How can a chain reaction by stopped
Once the initial event has begun?
To get invovled or to stay away
Has puzzled countless generations.
Methods of involvement are also considered.
Wrong ones can lead to degenerations.
Sadly the path I must travel
Can lead to people ready to fight.
Rarely does the easy path
Lead to things considered to be right.
