Rarely does greatness come easy.
Often it takes an entire lifetime to build.
Greatness can start with the simple, overlooked things
Providing a foothold for one to reach
Things unreachable only moments before.
Mistakes one makes along the way
Combined with personal opposition can create huge barriers,
But these barriers can be overcome
If one has enough persistance to keep trying
Until the barriers are no longer an obstruction to greatness.
Sometimes the barriers turn out to be merely illusions.
Different people have different ways
To measure greatness and decide who is great.
Who should decide such things?
Personal greatness comes from inside
And can only be measured by that person.
Other types of greatness will be measured
By others with varying degrees of knowledge of such things.
Even greatness based on an act taking seconds
Can take an entire lifetime to happen.
