Lord, protect us and keep us safe
During times of war and times of peace.
Remind us love we need to embrace
And hatred we need to release
In the way only You can do.
Human pride too often gets in the way
When I try to do things by myself
Not listening to what you say.
Many dangers unknown to us
Can be found in all directions.
To someone more reliable I turn
Knowing the problems with my personal selections.
You alone are able to see
People living in all places.
Everywhere at once You can be
Still able to distinguish human faces.
Over the years I have come so far.
I know I still have a long way to go.
From soliders at war to children at play,
Lead us in the direction You want us to go.
