TIMELESS By ... Steve Lucky
Timeless
TIMELESS
By ... Steve Lucky
One can be satisfied for awhile
By intense desires of the moment.
In the long run one discovers something missing,
The timeless appeal belonging to the best of things
So their value does not fade with the passage of time.
For days, months, years, and countless generations
Changes in fashion, politics, and technology
Will not alter the most basic meaning of timeless things.
Empires come and go, but timeless objects remain.
Prosperity and famine do affect them
But they never fade completely from sight.
Fads of the moment can never totally replace
Objects considered to be timeless.
Timeless things are far too valuable
And will not be erased from the pages of history.
Every day timeless classics are being created.
Until they prove they can withstand time passing,
Including changes in fads of the moment,
Future classics may not be identified.
Only time will tell what is timeless.
