Sunlight turns light into day
No other light source even comes close.
If used wisely it can leave a tan
Or burns if one should overdose.
Even nocturnal creatures need sunlight to survive
It provides the light and heat often taken for granite.
Artifical light may light up a building,
But nowhere near the entire planet.
Moonlight is a distant second
It does not feel warm to the touch.
Sunlight, however, can also be harmful
If it is used too much.
The atmosphere does not block harmful rays
Like it did it the past.
Precautions should be taken
If we want out skin to last.
Despite all its problems, sunlight will be needed
Until another global light source can be found.
With no such technology anywhere in sight,
Sunlight is something we need to have around.
