I want to send a message to the people of the world
To let them know I was indeed here.
Details may be lost beyond recovery,
But the basic message remains loud and clear.
Since much of the message can be distorted
By supporters, opponents, and myself alike
The message has to be kept simple
Enough to be memorized during a hike.
Some just say I am trying to get attention.
I like to believe there is more to it.
If understood, my message can change the world
So I face unexpected challenges in order to get through it.
Even if my name is lost or slurred
I want my message to remain
As a timeless, worldwide reminder
That love and kindness can sustain
Anyone and everyone through any and all adversities
We discover we have to face.
Wherever I go this worldwide message
Is never out of place.
