DISTORTION
By ... Steve Lucky
When we look at something through ignorance
Our view becomes distorted.
The events that actually happened
May not be the ones that we reported.
When our minds are clouded
With fear, anger, and hate
Mental images can blurred
By the things that we articulate.
Fantasies can seem quite real at times
But they need to be distinguished
From the kind or cruel reality
That refuses to be relinguished.
We can be decieved by false friends
Pretending to give us what we need.
They distort their true intentions
By appealing to our unsatisfied greed.
Accidental or intentional distortion of the truth
Cause ourselves are others great pain,
So we have to examine carefully
Distortions created by the brain.
