Comet

COMET By ... Steve Lucky A giant ball of gas, dust, and ice From the outer limits of the solar system Appears in the night sky. Brighter than the brightest star, Such objects were once seen as a bad omen Warning of danger in the near future. In the twentyfirst century most people see it As simply an interesting astronomical phenomenon. People gaze up at its beauty Wondering what they could see If they could travel with the comet On its distant, irregular path through the solar system. Whether a regular visitor Or a once in a lifetime opportunity, Comets remind us of our fear of the unknown And what we might miss if those fear are not overcome. Copyright 2001, Steve Lucky
