          LOVE YOUR ENEMIES

Jesus told us to love our enemies
And pray for those who persecute us.
It is easy to understand its importance,
Yet so difficult to actually carry out.
Love is not limited to kind people
Or people in agreement with what is being said.
Love extends from above the highest snow covered mountains
To below the bottom trenches of the ocean.
As I attempt to extend my reach
To include more than just those I feel comfortable around,
I am reminded I sometimes see myself as the enemy.
When this happens the moral used to love others
Is needed so I can love myself.
Trying to hold onto God does not matter
As long as God can hold on to us.
