Not a sound could be heard.
Silence was the dominant force.
No one could even pinpoint the source
Because no one dared to say a word.
The idea of retaliation was absurd,
Yet no one tried to stop the cource
Of the silence no one seemed to enforce.
The silence itself appeared unheard.
Freedom of speech can be oppressed
In many different ways,
All of them proven to be effective.
Unless these methods are confessed,
They may not be noticed for days.
Even silence can be defective.
