Looking back at the mistakes
Made by myself and others,
I wonder if there was a way
The situation could have been prevented.
One seemingly minor change,
Such as obeying a stop sign,
And a disaster could have been avoided.
Another seemingly minor change,
Being more vocal about safety regulations,
And a catastrophe would have never occurred.
When I look back,
Knowing what to do is easier
Because I know how the events unfold.
The future is uncertain.
It is important to learn from our mistakes,
So we can prevent similar ones from happening.
What would have happened does not concern me.
Only what has happened, is happening,
And will happen in the days to come.
