Lies mixed together with the horrible truth,
Rumors destroy a person's youth.
Before the person is ever born
Rumors about the parents makes one morn.
The toddler just learning to walk,
May not be aware of such nasty talk.
It catches up with the child in school
When classmates decide what is or is not cool.
At puberty the nature of the rumors change.
Does anyone find such information strange?
High school and college can be places
Where rumors are spread by unknown faces.
If a job is a failure or a huge success,
Rumors can make a career a mess.
Kind words are needed by one and all
Whether or not the rumors fall.
After death rumors still continue.
Such words should not even be on the menu.
Living life by bringing down another
Causes everyone to smother.
Slanted stories and abuse
Really have no proper use.
