        THE ROAD CONTINUES

The road continues to places unknown.
It has no end in sight.
Nobody else will arrive to help
Unless one tries with tremendous might.
Win, lose, draw, or postponed
More road is always found to travel.
Roads come in great variety.
Some are nicely paved and some are made of gravel.
The end of all roads can never be reached
By a finite creature like a human being.
One can view many distant objects,
But will never reach all he or she is seeing.
Paths must be chosen carefully.
Second chances may be hard to find.
One wrong path could be the last.
This puts one in quite a bind.
Many roads, some better than others,
Have been travelled over the years.
New roads are constantly being created
So construction work may be all one hears.
Roads surrounded by the sounds of nature
Can be heard by those who take time to walk.
Many animals are scared away
By traffic sounds or even talk.
One could travel many roads
To plenty of unfamiliar destinations
Or travel the same road many times
To a few well known locations.
