The horrible monster I have to face,
Capable of great destruction,
Will not be found anywhere I go.
My opponent is inside of me,
Trying to take control of me,
Forcing me into a battle
Unlike any other battle I have ever fought.
Normal weapons will not harm this monster.
Such a battle must be won with the heart.
Victory is never final because the monster keeps returning.
It is my ultimate opponent
Who can destroy me in ways
No one else would even think about.
Grimly I try to withstand the mere fact
That no external monster, anywhere I look,
Can be as deadly to me as the monster within.
