As I journey down a path
I have travelled many times before,
The things I might encounter along the way
Still remain a mystery.
Although the path I am taking
Was planned well in advance
And the equipment I will use
Are mostly things I have used before,
My course still depends
On a number of different factors,
Some of them I can control,
Some of them I can not.
The available transportation, my willingness to continue,
And the people who help me along the way
All play their part
In shaping the path to my destination
The journey could take a few seconds
Or last for an entire lifetime.
It is a journey for truth, for knowledge,
And most of all for friendship.
Communication skills are something I feel I need
To reach my destination.
This is an area where I am improving.
Most importantly, I must help others
And never overlook anyone
So I will not be overlooked myself
As I continue on my journey.
