     THE CROSSROADS OF 30
      By ... Steve Lucky

With three decades of life complete
And hopefully decades more to come,
I sit at the crossroads
And search for my true destination.
The path behind me is now familiar
I know my likes and dislikes of it precisely.
Still it is no use living in the past.
The paths to either side offer only deviations
From where I want to go.
It is no use taking those.
The path I want is straight ahead.
I see where I want to go
And I know how to get there,
But looking too far ahead
May cause me to loose my footing.
I must concentrate on where I am,
Sitting at the crossroads of thirty.
