       THE NIGHT SKY

Gazing out at the night sky
Into the atmosphere way up high
Sometimes I wonder what might be shown
Lurking in the vast unknown
Seen only now by human eye
Could a meteor or comet be in the skies
Or a chance encounter with a UFO?
Places it comes from and places it will go
Have never been seen by anyone.
Maybe it will be just a mundane run
From an airplane or helicopter late at night
Which soon will disappear from sight.
An eclipse may even be spotted by me.
These things, however, are rarities.
Most of the time I just see stars.
