Dragon Ball was a show that aired over here for a short time. I know little about it.
Characters
Goku - This is Goku the little kid. By the time we see him, his Grandpa is dead. He thinks a Dragon Ball is his Grandpa, as it was his Grandpa’s last possession. He can't do any kind of energy projection yet, but he uses a staff and karate. He is trained, in this series, by Master Roshi. He is a Saiyan, although he doesn't know it throughout this series. Goku’s name means the sky.
Master Roshi - Master Roshi, in this series, is the strongest human on Earth. He helps train little Goku.
Piccolo - This is weird. Piccolo is little. As you should know, Nameks don't have different genders. So Kame, when hit by Goku, spits out an egg that contains Piccolo. Goku and Piccolo are enemies in DB. Piccolo’s name is a small flute that my sister plays, he he.
Bulma – Bulma meets Goku in the first manga. She is on a quest for the Dragon Balls, and gets Goku to come along. She has teal hair and is full human. Bulma’s name means bloomers, or women’s gym shorts.
Yamucha - Yamucha is found in the desert in the episode "Yamucha the Desert Bandit." He makes friends with Goku and stays with him into GT. He is full human.
Tien - Tien is also little, and is Goku's main rival. He trains under an assassin who was Master Roshi's rival. He is human, even though he has three eyes.
Krillin - Krillin is Goku's best friend growing up. He hasn't become a monk yet, and he doesn't have hair yet, either. He is 1 year older than Goku. Krillin’s name means chestnut.
DBZ
DBZ is the mid series that has the most action.
Characters
Goku-He's back! And still the main character. Goku is the first to go Super Saiyan, and I was happy when he did. He is killed by Piccolo when Piccolo tries to kill Raditz. It's kind of an accident. He beats Raditz, Nappa, Vegeta, Frieza, The Androids, Cell and many more in this series with lots of help from his friends. Goku goes S. S., S. S. 2, and S.S. 3 in this series. He trains under King Kai and 100 times gravity.
Vegeta - Yay! Vegeta goes good in this series! But not for a long time. Vegeta comes to Earth as one of two pure blooded Saiyans left (the other one is Nappa). I know what you're thinking, Goku's a pure blooded Saiyan!!! Nope. Believe it or not, Goku has some (I’m talking small) Namek and Human in him. Anyways, late in this series, Vegeta goes Super Saiyan during the Android saga. He fuses with Goku in this series to make Gogeta and Vegito. He turns good in the Frieza saga. He dies fighting Frieza, I know that much about his deaths. He is Pure Royal Saiyan, you know. Vegeta’s name is a pun on vegetable.
Gogeta – Vegeta and Goku formed together in a 30-minute fusion. Only seen in Super Saiyan form.
Vegito – Goku and Vegeta with the Potara earrings in for a permanent fusion. He is needed to beat Majin Buu. Majin Buu ends up absorbing Vegito and then releasing them un-fused.
Piccolo - Um, yay! Piccolo goes good in this series! (imagine that anime sweat drop on your head) Piccolo supposedly goes Super Namek in this series but the transformation is in GT. Piccolo fuses with Nail to help in the fight with Frieza. He kills Goku and Raditz early in the series. This was always what he wanted, but he feels remorse(about killing Goku). Piccolo has a miniscule amount of Saiyan in him, and even a small amount of Human, but he never goes Super Saiyan.
Gohan - Gohan is introduced in this series. Gohan is Goku's first son. But Gohan is a fearless fighter in this series. You have to admit that he looks cool in Saiyan Armor. He does seem to rival Frieza in some episodes, but not enough. He defeats Cell. He goes Super Saiyan in this series, and he can go and does Ultimate/Mystic Saiyan here, and I think is 17 years old when Z ends. He marries Videl and has his daughter, Pan. He does not die at all. He trains under Piccolo. Gohan’s name means rice, or meal.
Krillin - Krillin is still the same, but he's older now. He's gone through that whole monk thing. He is fairly strong. He marries one of the Androids and has his daughter Maroon. He dies twice. He trains under Kame. He looks cool in Saiyan Armor.
Tien - Tien becomes pretty strong in this series. Oh yeah, he's good now. He trains under Kame and King Kai. He dies twice.
Chaozu - Cute little white floating child. Has some powers, and is Tien's best friend. He did train with Tien in DB, although I’m not sure if you see him. He trains under King Kai and Kame.
Yamucha - Yamucha is basically the same, but now he is older and stronger. He is the weakest Z fighter. He has his own little Spirit Bomb in this series.
Master Roshi - He is older in this series, although he doesn't look it. He plays a more minor role in this series.
Mr. Satan – Videl’s dad.
Nail - Nail is somewhat of an important character in the third series of DBZ. He fuses with Piccolo to help fight in the final battle with Frieza. Before that, he fought Frieza with a surprising 40,000 Power Level. Frieza was resting when this battle took place, and had a Power Level of 530,000. He protects Guru.
Dende - Dende is a cute little Namek boy. He is the next Kame. He has extremely high inner powers(we're talking more than Piccolo) but does not show them for quite a while.
Guru - Guru is the wise eldest Namek. He is the keeper of the Dragon Balls on Namek. He awakens powers within people, like Dende, Gohan, and Krillin.
He was a great fighter when he was young, like Nail.
He sadly dies later on.
Bulma - Bulma is basically the same, but in this series she stops liking Yamucha and marries Vegeta, having Trunks and Bra. She is older.
Trunks - For a little while, all we see is Future Trunks, who is a 17 year old. But in The Android Saga, we see baby Trunks. Future Trunks comes to finish off Frieza and his father, King Kold. It is so cool when Frieza and King Kold are in little bitty pieces. He then lands on Earth and tells them where Vegeta and Goku are about to land. Normal Trunks is born in the year the Androids arrive. Trunks also shows up then, too. Trunks grows up to about 7 in Z, and gets strong and trains under Gohan. His name meaning is fairly obvious.
Goten – Goten is Goku’s second son. Goten and Young Trunks are best friends. Goten is extremely strong, like his father. But not even Goku can claim that he went Super Saiyan at 5. He sports the same haircut and outfit as his dad. Goten’s name means the sky.
Chi-Chi – Chi-Chi is Goku's wife and Gohan and Goten's mother. She is very protective and wants them to be scholars. Believe it or not, she can power up and does so in the Garlic Jr. Saga.
Maroon – Maroon is Krillin’s little daughter. she doesn’t have any fighting powers. Her mother is Android 18.
Marin – Krillin’s girlfriend in the Garlic Jr. Saga.
Oolong - Oolong is that pig that every one loves(joke). He can shape shift.
Puarr - Puarr is that little cat thing that loves and is partners with Yamucha. It can also shape shift. Oolong and it were rivals in Shape-Shifting School Kindergarten.
Raditz – Raditz is Goku’s evil brother. He has hair down to the backs of his knees. He’s strong for the time, but is defeated by Piccolo. He is the first villain in Z. He cannot go Super Saiyan. Raditz’s name means radish.
Nappa - Nappa is Vegeta's evil caretaker. He has pure Royal Saiyan blood, and is fairly strong. He gets to about 3,200 in his top fights. Vegeta kills him in that battle for fun. He doesn’t go Super Saiyan, but he doesn’t have any hair any way.
Kiwi - In my personal opinion, Kiwi is cool. He was that purple skinned henchman for Frieza and was Vegeta's first victim on Namek. He was fairly strong for the time, getting up to 18,000. He is number three of Frieza's top three henchmen. Kiwi’s name is a type of fruit.
Dodoria - Dodoria was that piggish character who was one of Frieza's henchmen. Now don't get me wrong, he's not Oolong's cousin, but he's kind of fat and pink. He is really pretty strong, rivaling Vegeta at the time. He got up to like 31,000. Number two on Frieza's henchmen list.
Zarbon - Pretty boy can go bad. Zarbon looks pretty cool in his normal form. But he can transform. Then he's ugly. But he's strong in that state. He even beats Vegeta in that stage. Later on, Vegeta gets revenge on the transformed Zarbon. He gets up to about 35,500 in his transformed state. He is Frieza's 1st henchman(Ginyu does not count).
Frieza-The big bad guy for a while. He sounds like a girl in four of his stages(he really has six) but if you underestimate him he'll blow your head off. The first stage even has the woman figure. That stage gets up to about 600,000. The second one is when he cracks his own Saiyan Armor off and doesn't look much different. He gets up to 800,000 in that form.
The third would be bull form. He gets up to 1,000,000 in that step. Next is snake stage. He can go to something like 2,000,000 in this stage. The next is the true stage. Frieza can get to 8,000,000 on this one. Full power just pumps up the shoulders and muscles from true form. He gets full power, almost to the bursting point, in this form. That would be 12,000,000. I enjoy those large numbers. And here comes another one: Goku, in order to defeat this monster, goes Super Saiyan and gets up to 15,000,000.
Frieza doesn’t die when Goku beats him. They rebuild him stronger than ever and send him to Earth. Trunks then chops him into onion slices in about half an episode. So much for those 30 episodes of Goku and Frieza fighting. His brother is Kooler, his father King Kold. Frieza’s name, like the rest of his family, is related to coldness. His name in particular means freezer.
Ginyu - Ginyu is a purple skinned fighter of the Ginyu Force, Frieza's 'Elite' fighting force. He is the Captain, and is often called Captain Ginyu. He is strong for the time, but Goku could have laid waste to him if he hadn't gone and changed bodies with him. Eventually, evryone except Ginyu gets their body back, and Ginyu is trapped in a frog's body. His name means milk.
Jase - Jase is the third strongest Ginyu Forceman. He has white, long, hair and orange skin. He is killed by Vegeta. His name means cheese.
Burter - Burter is an extremely fast fighter who looks to be related to Gonzo, the Muppet, and he is the fourth strongest Ginyu Forceman. He is killed by Vegeta, against what Goku says. He has blue skin. His name means butter.
Recoome - Recoome is the second strongest Ginyu Forceman. His main attack is the Recoome Boom. He has red hair and looks like Android 16. His name means cream.
Guldo - Guldo is the weakest Ginyu Forceman. He has four eyes and green skin. He is very short. His name means yogurt.
Cell - His first form is Cell, a powerful android created from the blood of all those who were in the Android Saga and before. Near Perfect Cell is next, who is stronger. Perfect Cell is last, and is whom you will see in my Cell Images. He’s pretty cool! He fights the Z warriors for a long time, and Gohan ends up beating him. Tien, Yamucha, and Chaozu, have their grand finale fights against him, and then go to live with King Kai. Cell’s name is pretty obvious.
Android 16 – Android 16 was a male human with red hair before becoming an Android and still appears to be human after becoming an Android. He was gentle, loving, and nice before Dr. Gero turned him into an Android. He is incredibly strong, and often gives our heroes a wallop.
Android 17 – Android 17 was a female human with black hair before becoming an Android and still appears to be human after becoming an Android. She is fast and witty, but easier to defeat than the others.
Android 18 – Android 18 was a female human with blonde hair before becoming an Android and still appears to be human after becoming an Android. She is the Android that Krillin marries and has Maroon with. Of course, she is good once this happens. She convinces Krillin to have hair.
Android 19 – Android 19 was designed by Dr. Gero and appears to be humanoid. It has a strange, clownish, voice and is obliterated by S. S. Vegeta.
Android 20/Dr. Gero – Dr. Gero is Android 20. It is the smartest Android, of course. Dr. Gero made himself and Android.
Majin Buu – Majin Buu is a bunch of different people. First, there is Majin Buu, an extremely good fighter with tons of abilities. Then, there is Mr. Buu, a counterpart to Majin Buu. he helps the Z fighters in some ways. Then there is Small Majin Buu, who is just Majin Buu short. Confusing, I know, but he has his own saga named after him in late Z, and it is in this saga that Vegito appears.
DBGT
GT is the last series and has 64 episodes.
Goku - At the beginning of this series, Goku is accidentally wished back to childhood! Kame dies soon after, meaning no Dragon Balls, so Goku, Trunks, and Pan (all at about the same age now) go venturing to distant planets gathering the Universal Dragon Balls so they can wish Goku back to adulthood! This adventure makes up most of GT. They run into some space fighters on their journey, so of course Goku gets some fighting action! Goku has his transformation to S. S. 4, or Super Goku, in this series.
Vegeta – Not much of a role here. Trains to become stronger than Goku, of course, but does not go on the quest. However, he does help in a fight against Janenba. Vegeta has his transformation to S. S. 4, or Super Vegeta, in this series.
Gohan – Has a role, but not much of one.
Piccolo – Doesn’t get too much here. Supposedly has the transformation to Super Namek now, but I don’t know. If he did, rumor has it his original antennae go purple and he grows two long gold ones out of his temples.
Janenba – Janenba is an evil fighter who appears in GT for a saga of fighting with Goku and Vegeta.
Goten – He and Trunks do form Gotenks in the last episode, but I’m not sure if he’s got much else.
Trunks – One of the travelers on the quest. At the end, we see Trunks met up with Future Trunks as a scholar.
Gotenks – Appears in this series in the last episode. I’m not sure if he has anything else, though.
Pan – Gohan’s daughter. Travels on the journey. Mom is Videl, has ¼ Saiyan blood.
Krillin – Has a small role.
OK, if you need help taking a hint, not much of anybody has a role here except Goku, Pan, and Trunks.
MOVIES
This will cover a few characters that I know of that are only in the 13 DBZ Movies.
Brolly – Brolly is the first Super Saiyan. Remember when Vegeta was talking about the ‘First Super Saiyan’? The guy who destroyed himself and half a universe because he didn’t know his own power? This is he. He goes up to Super Saiyan 2 and is outrageously strong. All of the Z fighters get together to beat this demon of a fighter who was wished back evilly.
Turlus – One of the few remaining Saiyans, Turlus shows up in The Tree of Might to try and take over the world. He plans to use the Tree of Might’s fruit to pump himself up, but it doesn’t work because of Goku.
Kooler – Frieza’s evil brother. He looks awesome, but is truly evil.
