"Relativity" Oil Painting This painting is filled with a lot of symbolism. It's a statement about society and the hazard of living. Life isn't always what it seems. Sometimes we get stuck in life and can't seem to find a way out---the small door. When we don't know how to change things because we are out-of-control then everything becomes larger than life---the orange and fly. The barricade is a symbol for caution---to slow down and re-evaluate everything. The idea of the hanged man came to me from Francisco de Goya's, "No More" from the "The Disasters of War". |
