This Confederate First National flag was carried to the war in 1861 by Company C of the Legion's Cavalry Battalion. It was retired from service in early 1862 which likely explains its survival. It is the only Legion flag known to have survived the war and is today in the collection of Kennesaw Mountain National Military Park. The flag features a rather unusual eleven star arrangement in the canton
