My newest movie review is for Mystery Men

The Movie is about three guys, one whose name is Eddie, who calls himself the Shoveler, whose secret power is to whack people with his shovel. The second oneีs name is Roy, and he Calls himself Mr Furious, whos secret power is.. he get's really angry. The third is named Jeff, and he calls himself the Blue Rajah, whose secret power is the ability to throw forks.

They are "Super Heroes."

So, when they try to defend a senior citizen center from a criminal group called the Red Eyes, and fails, the City's real superhro steps in and takes command. His name is Captain Amazing.

Captain Amazing's arch nemesis, Cassanova Frankenstein (I didn't make up the names, I just relate them to you), gets out of the mental institution on Parole, and immediately lures Captain amazing to his secret lair, and kidnaps him.

The Blue Rajah, The Shoveller, and Mr Furious go to Cassanova Frankenstein's hideout, and try to rescue him, but get their butts kicked by the Disco Duo. That's what I call them. One is a tall skinny black guy with an afro from the deepest stygian pit in the galaxy, and the other is some frumpy white guy.

So, the Trio decides to hire some more Pseudo Heroes to help them in their fight. Among those interviewed are Pencilman, and his sidekick, Son of Pencil man, Waffle Man and a tall dark figure, who promises potential, until he opens his cloak to reveal a bright pink tutu, and calls himself Ballerina Man.

SO, eventually, they find three more people to join them. The Spleen, a pimply guy with a serious Flatulence problem. Invisible Boy, Who only turns invisible when no one is looking at him, and The Bowler, who has an enchanted Bowling ball, in which is encased the skull of her Father.

Together they go to free Captain Amazing From the clutches of Cassanova Frankenstein, but then something bad happens, and they become the cities last hope for survival.

If this was anything other then a spoof movie, i would give it a VERY poor rating, but since it is a spoof movie (with more then a touch of Batman and Robin thrown in) I guess i have to give it 3 Field Mice, for effort.

There was no sex, no cursing (though there were a few phrases like "Oh, just fork it." and "This is all forked up" uttered by the Blue Rajah.) and very little violence. What violence there was was comedic with no lasting repercussions on the characters, so as a Morality Rating, i give it 4 3/4 field Mice.

And, as always, Ebert Can have the balcony, the sneak previews guys can have the aisle seats, i want the exact middle!
