Dad

What can I say about dad? Well, I can tell you that is first name is Roger. Dad is your regular dad. He doesn't really yell that much. I think that mom yells more than dad does. I guess that is where I get my coolness and calmness when things don't go that great. He was born in Texas a looooooooong time ago. He went to a high school in Farwell, Texas. Farwell is on the border of New Mexico and Texas on Hwy 84 and on the time line for Central Stardard and Mountain Standard Time Zones (I have a pic of me on that line somewhere). He grew up in that small town before going to Texas Tech to major in engineering. While at Texas Tech, he met my mom. A week after college, they got married and moved to Victoria, Texas where he got a job with DuPont. On March 5th, 1977, I came along. 3 years, 4 months and 5 days later, my sisters were born. 364 days after they were born, dad got transfered to LaPlace, Louisiana. My parents haven't moved from that house yet. I don't know if they will or not after my sisters get out of the house. I sure hope not.

Dad does all of the cooking, and all of the grocery shopping. He likes to read books on the Civil War and both World Wars. He likes playing chess and he is the head of the Kenner Chess Club. There, he plays other chess players from various parts of the city. They also play against other chess clubs around the New Orleans area. That's dad for you. He is the greatest dad that anyone could have. I'm glad that he's my dad.

In April of this year, dad will have an article published in Chemical Engineering Progress. His article has something to do with computers, spreadsheets, safety, and a program that he wrote. If someone wants to explain that to me, go right ahead. That is about the only thing new that is up with my dad. I'll put more when I get some more news.
