'History of the Condottieri of the Twin Cities'...

NOTES

*1* (Condottieri badge)

Its badge is described as: "Or, a bend wavy azure between two towers, all within a bordure sable". "For Glory or Gold" is the household motto.

*2* (mercenary recruitment)
Lord Robert, shire historian, supplied both sides a list of fighters' addresses that he knew. Most of the fighters who came fought for the Condottieri.

*3* (household expansion)
The alliance turned into a bond when House de Northwode became the Condottieri's second sept. This group folded after THL Brian left Gladenfeld (1991).

*4* (shire/household differences)
While household members had differences with Lady Patris as Rivermarch's seneschale, the Condottieri itself did not; the group remaining neutral during the time of trouble that led to her leaving the shire (April-December 1989). Her departure, followed by Lady Justina's, echoed Arion's departure from the Condottieri a year earlier (Summer 1988) and Lady Delia the Rose of MacMurrah's five years later (Spring 1994).

*5* (sept succession)
When Michael and Judith left the SCA, Lord Adam MacDonald and THL Dianne of York succeeded them as sept chieftan (1994 and 1995). Sir Tancred dello Falco, originally from House Bohun, began a third sept upon returning to Atlantia/Meridies from Drachenwald (1993).

*6* (members recognized)
The honors ranged from awards of arms to knighthoods (Michael and Tancred), grants of arms (Judith and Brian), a Poet Laureate and Vicar (Brian), a Regional Deputy Chirurgeon (Erinn), an Argent Comet (Gloria), a Cygnet (Hrothgar), a Meridian Cross (Charr), and a Guiding Hand (Gloria).
