The "lamp", or "light", is talked about in the Bible in various forms. Here are some examples with corresponding scriptures.

"Conscience" Prov 20:27 "The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all the innermost parts of his being".

"Prosperity" Job 29:2-3 "How I long for the months gone by, for the days when God's lamp shone upon my head and by His light I walked through darkness!"

"Industry" Prov 31:18

"She sees that her trading is profitable and her lamp does not go out at night."

"Death" Job 18:6

"The light in his tent becomes dark; the lamp beside him goes out."

"God's Justice" Zeph 1:12

"At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps and punish those who are complacent."

As the lamp gives light to a dark world, so too, God is "light".

1John 1:5 says:

"God is light; in Him there is no darkness".

The scripture goes on to say in 7th verse:"if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin."

You can have light in your life by saying the following Prayer of Salvation:

Lord God I come to you in the name of Jesus. I realize that however hard I try, I cannot save myself. All my good deeds don't measure up in comparison with Your holiness. I come to You on the basis of what Jesus Christ has done for me. I believe Jesus was crucified, died and rose again in my place. Right now, I invite you Lord to come into my life. I turn from sin. Jesus, I confess that You are Lord of my life. I will follow You Jesus for You are the Son of God, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. Amen!
