"You will find, as you look back upon your life, that the moments when you really lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love."
-- Henry Drummond Life

There are points of time in the journey of life that we experience special growth.
In these times of awakening we see things we
had not noticed before, we get little pieces
of enlightenment that help us more clearly
understand that which had previously eluded
us, we become at peace with a great mystery
of life. These times are a challenge, an
opportunity, a fantastic chance for us to take
ourselves to another level.
Be it professionally, spiritually, emotionally,
or in our relationships with those important to
us, these experiences allow us to do great things.
Seize them when they present themselves, do not
let them pass you by.
Thaddeous Samuel Canfeild

Our One Choice
All men and women are born, live suffer and die; what distinguishes us
one from another is our dreams, whether they be dreams about worldly or
unworldly things, and what we do to make them come about... We do not
choose to be born. We do not choose our parents. We do not choose
our historical epoch, the country of our birth, or the immediate
circumstances of our upbringing. We do not, most of us, choose to die;
nor do we choose the time and conditions of our death. But within this
realm of choicelessness, we do choose how we live.

Joseph Epstein in The Virtue Of Ambition

Once an old Construction Manager by the name of Junnie walked out of his office and approached the owner of the of the company doing all of the concrete work on Junnie's job. Junnie noticed the man's car - a brand new red Mercedes v12 SL (convertible). Junnie marveled at it and said " Wow a Mercedes ..... I always have wanted one of those" the concrete man replied almost immediately "Bull-XXXX Junnie, you wish you had one. If you really wanted one, you would have figured out a way to get it!" Words have great power and should be used carefully. Aloha, for example, should not be seen as a frivolous tourist greeting. Alo means the bosom or center of the universe, and ha, the breath of God, so to say this word is to appreciate another's divinity. Nana Veary Hawaiian Kupuna

Imagination has brought mankind through the dark ages to its present state of civilization. Imagination led Columbus to discover America. Imagination led Franklin to discover electricity. Imagination has given us the steam engine, the telephone the talking-machine, and the automobile, for these things had to be dreamed of before they became realities. So I believe that dreams -- daydreams, you know, with your eyes wide open and your brain machinery whizzing --are likely to lead to the betterment of the world. The imaginative child will become the imaginative man or woman most apt to invent, and therefore to foster, civilization. L. Frank Baum

To Dare To Dream Author: Rev. John Abbott during the turbulent 60's to record what he thought he heard students saying. To dare to dream that for every question there's an answer... for every answer yet another question... and that in the asking there is renewed adventure... in that daring and dreaming is a symphony of ambition. To dare to dream that my thinking and understanding might be heard and find its way into the shape of the future -- in that daring and dreaming is my energy for today. To dare to dream that my skills might affect the destiny of other people -- in that daring and dreaming is my hope for tomorrow. To dare to dream that the yearnings of my soul have a purpose which only I can find -- in that daring and dreaming is the road to discovery. To dare to dream that the spirit of school might continue in me -- tempered with time, but relevant -- in that daring and dreaming is a yet greater symphony.
