Intrepid Class Information:

The Intrepid Class design is One of the newer classes of vessels in Starfleet. This class is a small, fast ship that can be used for a variety of mission profiles. Its maneuverability aslo makes it a good ship for missions in which that traint is critical. The Intrepid Class design also carries with it 'Variable Geometry' warp nacelles. The nacelle pylons can be raised at an angle during warp flight in order to minimize any damage to the space-time continuum as a result of warp. The Intrepid Class is also an illustration of the trend in starship design to merge the primary and secondary hulls, eliminating the trademark 'neck' of past Starfleet vessels.
