He was born in Pendleton District S.C. in 1819 and moved to Ga when only ten (10) years of age. He was married to Priscilla Fralix in 1842. In 1858 he professed religion and joined New Hope Church. In afew years he moved his membership to New Prospect where he lived and died a consistant member. He died as he lived beliving in a true and living God. He leaves a wife and a large family of sons and daughters to mourn. He was a man strictly honest in all his dealings, even to help those in need, and never turned anyone away empty handed. May his children try and emulate his example and to live as to one day meet him at the pearly gates above, where parting is never known. He was laid to rest in the Anticoh graveyard, his last resting place until the Great Trumpet shall call the dead to rise. The family all have the sympathy of the people in their bereavement.
James Anthony Voiles and his family settled near Hardin Springs, afterwards called Kensington. Here he bought a farm and lived there for many years. In 1892 he sold the farm at Hardin Springs and bought the Shamblin Old farm, just afew mo. before he died. After his death Priscilla and her children stayed on and ran the farm.
