"You Are Lovely"

C.J. Ingerson
2/19/99

Verse 1
********

You are exactly what
I'd thought
you'd be lovely.
A child of Father's;
in a body little more
expressed and mature.

Verse 2
********

Thus all Father's children
when they are babies
are wonderful to see;
to hold, to love.

Verse 3
********

It's only when
we are older;
there seems to be
a sense of difference
between who we are
and what we see.

Verse 4
********

So when you ask me
are we what
you expected,
what more can I say
but of course?

Verse 5
********

You see Father
made us all
in his image.
Now granted
some of us are tall
and some short;
some of us are hairy
while some are bald;
some are slender
while some of us
well . . .

Verse 6
********

But still we are all
Father's children
and therefore lovely
to behold just now.

Verse 7
********

For beauty comes
from deep within
from the center
of our beings;
it is the who we are
and as children
which we are
admonished
to become;
we are lovely
to the eye
to behold.

Verse 8
********

We've matured
a little more;
while the outside
seems a little
worn and torn;
it is on the inside
we are warm
within the Master's;
even Heavenly Father's
gentle touch.
