Verse 1
********
First to kneel in prayer
for the opportunity
of another day
to plan and prepare
to become better
in someway to complete
and begin my goals
for Father this day.
|
Verse 2
********
All goals point
in one direction;
the long term goal
of returning to Father;
who has given me
this person to return
to Him better than received.
|
Verse 3
********
But goals are more than that;
they are the milestones
of my mortal probation
to be going forwards always.
|
Verse 4
********
Thus goals are both eternal
and for here in mortality.
|
Verse 5
********
I set them in the six areas
of a life so full already;
that unselfishly most
tend to be intangible,
while some tangible remain.
|
Verse 6
********
So as I deal with the physical,
the mental, the social,
the financial, the spiritual,
I now think more of the family;
in ways beyond the scope
of my being each day.
|
Verse 7
********
The purpose of goals
is to mark my journey;
to know the path to take
today, for tomorrow
and to be able to review
the past and correct mistakes.
|
Verse 8
********
The purpose of goals
is to determine my priorities;
thus be able to be working
on the important
while completing the easy.
|
Verse 9
********
The purpose of goals
is to follow another's example;
while walking in footsteps
not before seen or done.
|
Verse 10
********
The purpose of goals
is personal to my attitude;
for it to improve daily
and change to become
less selfish and more caring.
