"You can't keep trouble from coming,
but you needn't give it a chair to sit in." (unkn)

"Most Times Friend"

C.J. Ingerson
2/10/99

Verse 1
********

Most times my friend
I'd invite you in
enjoy your company
we've known each other
for such a long time.

Verse 2
********

But today I've decided
not to invite you in
oh I expect you'll
still be here when
I check the door again.

Verse 3
********

Somehow just today for a while
I need you to go away from me
I need the peace and quiet
just for a short time
then tomorrow we meet again.

Verse 4
********

So if you don't mind we'll skip
just for today if it is okay
there'll be no chair to sit
or marriage to rock
and my family you'll not disturb.

Verse 5
********

Maybe I've been too nice for years
to think I've to let you in like others
now you take it for granted you're
welcome here daily and the chair
is yours whenever you want.

Verse 6
********

Well trouble not today so go away
bother me no more today
I've never had to invite you in
just thought be doing so
you wouldn't bother someone else.

Verse 7
*******

I know I can't keep you from calling
and I'll never talk no sense into you
for your mind is set and that is sure
but today you're not welcome here
for I've to rest, for I've to rest.
