Verse 1

The thunder storms came and went
all summer long it seemed that way
the winds and rain would not relent
but mother told us it would be okay.

Verse 2

We asked how mother can this be
the thunder and lightning seem relentless
she said my children come look and see
there are the rainbows promised us to bless.

Verse 3

Tell us about the rainbows mother please
so over the hours as the storms came
she related the stories our minds to ease
in the Bible about the flood always the same.

Verse 4

How after the flood Noah was grieved,
so Father gave Noah a heavenly sign
beloved this servant of God relieved
he recorded the promise line upon line.

Verse 5

How a rainbow was sent to follow
the many storms so terrible and strong.
Thus we were taught by mother to allow
storms from the Master of wind and sky.

Verse 6

Thus now each time we have storms above
We tell our children the story that shows
taught to us by our beloved mother's love
of how Noah was given the lovely rainbows.
