I've often been in constant wonderment
for the love of a friend I've had so long
who for me would stand in punishment
all the sins I've committed or done wrong.

He has always been my constant companion
almost all my life I can't remember when.
He hasn't been next to me in constant union;
I wonder when I'll see instead of feel Him again.

His mission was to come to Earth and then go
but somehow with me it is always like He's been
always here for me each day to do and to know;
His shoulder to lean, His blankets at night to lend.

I've wondered if I was in the crowd that day if I
would come forward and made a difference someway?
This I know couldn't be done as I was there to cry;
knowing sometime, somewhere, someday I'd help repay.

Shadows loom upon my life as early into Fall I've come
maybe Winter's not as far away as I'd often thought to end.
Yet in man's year it is still the Spring and rebirth to some;
but this is also the time of year they crucified my friend.

Yes in my poems I ramble and words sometimes scrambled
It is my wish for all to understand how I this friend love;
without His friendship I fear where I would be in life as I ambled.
His hand has pulled me out of the places I strayed from above.

Please understand this is the Son of Heavenly Father
of who I speak today for you to know deep within my heart
it is for Him my Savior I weep each time I sin of forget another;
and as you think of Easter or this scene, know we all took part.

How our Father could bear to watch, as we watch our own
is hard for me to know; but it was for a lesson to teach
each of us as we as parents watch our children grown;
remember to at this moment of climax He to others did reach.
