"For Now I'm a Teenager"

C.J. Ingerson
2/23/99

Verse 1
********

No longer am I daddy's little girl
to hug and upon his knee to sit
I spend hours trying to find a curl
and just learning a teenagers wit.

Verse 2
********

The confusion is immense for me
to play and fool with others
I was a child now no longer to see
I've found my sisters and brothers.

Verse 3
********

What has happened to my world too
can't anyone else see this but me
for now it is time to grow up true
but it happened too suddenly to see.

Verse 4
********

So much is expected of me now
and there are lots of responsibilities.
I guess I'll grow into it somehow
yet it does have new possibilities.

Verse 5
********

As a teenager now I look at life
different than a few years before
so much more daily things of strife
but also there is the boy next door.

Verse 6
********

Mother, Father; instead of mom or dad
now I'm Holly, not my child or little girl
what have I gotten myself into egad!
father said, "I was now his precious pearl."

Verse 7
*******

So I've gone into a different world of mine
for Heavenly Father to allow me to see
Mother says, "Holly, it'll be just fine."
But it is still all confusion in reality to be.
