This is dedicated to my brother and
To have been a choice father
To be a husband sealed forever
To be a watchman on the wall
To hear the words proclaimed
To know had anything changed
The Paradox of Service
C.J. Ingerson
10/13/98
Verse 1
*******
friend Wayne Foote:
To have been faithful
in service to others
is to have a life full.
To have sacrificed
of time and talents
so others can be gratified.
To have spent hours from home
while your children grew old
to fulfill the needs of Fathers own.
Verse 2
********
while serving others needs
to always take the extra step farther.
To be called of God
and hold the title of Bishop
yet to till and cultivate the sod.
To be a servant in His garden
honoring your priesthood covenants
never once seeking release or pardon.
Verse 3
********
with a loving companion gone first
but not complain and murmur never.
To be my brother when in need
more than just idle words
but in fact and in actual deed.
Verse 4
********
seeing those who need a friend
and always heeding the call.
To be a husband left alone
is what you are now
forever again with her as one.
Verse 5
********
here is my valiant servant
to him give all that is acclaimed.
To the stewardship you bear
understanding of the priesthood
is forever and ever to share.
Verse 6
********
you would not have known
and have all just past rearranged.
To know one is worthy
the keys of knowledge and light
will be with you surely.
To rest now is not the plan
you as I have different trusts
with our strength gone as the sand.
Verse 7 ********
To prune and develop |
Verse 8 ********
To know of the love your bride |
